Description
Columbae Pigeon Crop Milk 500g by Psittacus is ideal for hand-rearing granivorous pigeon chicks during the first neonatal phase, from hatching to the 5th day of life. It is an exclusive hand feeding formula being of very high concentration yet easily digestible. It is formulated to constitute 100% of the chick’s diet during this period.
This product is specially recommended for professional breeders who perform artificial incubation. It allows them to achieve growth rates similar to those obtained by the best breeding pairs. This vigorous growth promotes health and minimizes the risk of disease.
Usage:
It should be used at a concentration of 25%.
It is advisable to confirm that the crop is empty or nearly empty in the morning.
From the 5th day of life, the Pigeon Crop Milk formula should be progressively replaced by the Granivorous Pigeon Hand Feeding (listed separately).
After each feed, the leftover formula should be discarded.
Once the package is opened, store in in a air-tight container in a cool, dry place.
While refrigeration is not advised, freezing is possible if it is kept hermetically sealed.
Preparation of Columbae Pigeon Crop Milk 500g:
It should be prepared with warm water between 37-39 degrees centigrade. Place the powder formula in a bowl first, add the water (25% dry formula + 75% lukewarm water) and mix thoroughly with a whisk until a texture similar to a shaken yoghurt is reached.
Daily Intake:
It is important to offer the right amount to the chicks over several feeds (between 4 or 5) during the first 5 days of life.

Oil seeds, oil fruits and products derived thereof, dried whole egg, vegetable oils (high oleic sunflower, crude palm, refined coconut, refined linseed), minerals and products derived thereof, inulin (Cichorium intybus), marigold meal (Tagetes erecta).
