Live Calci Worms Large – Pre-Pack

Calci Worms are the larvae of the Black Spider Fly.  They are unique in that they store calcium in their exoskeleton, giving them a high calcium content with the added benefit of an excellent calcium to phosphorus ratio:  in fact, they can contain up to 60 times more calcium than commonly used feeder insects.  The flies themselves also make excellent food.

Calci Worms are ready to serve straight from their pot.  There is no need to dust or gut load these insects before feeding to a bird, providing they are being used as part of a varied diet and they are excellent in providing additional calcium to birds such as canaries just before breeding.

• High in calcium, with an almost perfectly balanced ration of calcium to phosphorus ratio.
• Non-climbing so can be fed in a shallow smooth sided dish to prevent them hiding away.
• Non-biting as larvae and adults
